About This Call
Ellington-White Contemporary Art Gallery presents ARTISTS WHO TEACH, a national juried exhibition celebrating visual art educators. The exhibition runs September 14 – November 2, 2019, at Ellington-White Contemporary and Fayetteville State University Rosenthal Art Gallery in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
This exhibition invites current and former visual art education professionals to submit entries showcasing the arts as an essential part of education. The eight-week exhibition will include both physical gallery exhibitions and an online exhibition. Selected works will include the artist's educational institution or school system, and selected artists are encouraged to submit a statement about the importance of arts education.
Eligibility: Open to professional artists who are current or former art educators. All work must be original and completed within the last three years, and must not have been previously exhibited in Cumberland County. Submissions are limited to a maximum of three 2D works. Work size must be between 12" x 12" x 12" and 48" x 60" x 60" including frame. All works must be properly framed, wired, and ready to hang. Entry fee is $30.00 (non-refundable). Accepted artists will be notified September 3rd, with artwork delivery required by September 10, 2019. Awards include cash prizes, a People's Choice Award, and Honorable Mentions.
