Artists Who Teach 2022: National Juried Competition

Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery, with support from the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County, invites current and former Visual Art Education Professionals to submit entries for this national juried exhibition. The exhibition celebrates the arts as an essential part of a complete education and recognizes the impact of visual arts across all learning environments, from kindergarten through creative aging programs.

The six-week exhibition runs September 23 – November 12 at Fayetteville State University Rosenthal Art Gallery and includes both physical gallery exhibitions and an online exhibition (closing December 31st). All selected artists will exhibit online, and the juror will select additional works for the university gallery. Artists may submit up to three original 2D works completed within the last three years that have not been previously exhibited in Cumberland County. Work sizes must be between 12" x 12" and 48" x 60" including frame, properly framed, wired, and ready to hang. Entry fee is $35.00 for up to three images. Awards include cash prizes, a People's Choice Award, and Honorable Mentions. A 30% commission applies to all sales. The juror is Harris Wiltsher, Facilitator & Associate Professor of Visual Arts at Florida A&M University.

Accepted works must arrive by September 21, 2022. Artwork can be shipped prepaid via UPS, USPS, or FedEx with a prepaid return-shipping label, or hand-delivered September 15-17, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. Acceptance notifications will be sent September 6, 2022. Work pickup is November 17-19, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm.
