About This Call
Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery presents a national juried exhibition celebrating visual arts in education. The exhibition invites current and former visual art education professionals to submit entries showcasing the arts as an essential part of a complete education in homes, schools, and communities. The eight-week exhibition runs October 22 – December 11 at Arts Council Fayetteville/Cumberland County and Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery, with all selected artists also exhibiting online.
Eligibility is open to professional artists who are current or former art educators. All work must be original, completed within the last three years, and not previously exhibited at the Arts Council or Ellington-White Contemporary. Artists may submit a maximum of three 2D works. Work size must be between 12" x 12" and 48" x 60" including frame. All works must be properly framed, wired, and ready to hang. Entry fee is $35.00 for up to three images. Digital submissions are accepted via CaFE beginning August 20, 2021, with a deadline of October 2, 2021 at midnight EST. Accepted works must arrive by October 16, 2021.
Awards include cash prizes, a People's Choice Award, and Honorable Mentions. The gallery takes a 30% commission on all sales. Jurors are Dwight Smith, MFA, Associate Professor of Visual Arts at Fayetteville State University, and Soni Martin, MFA, Professor of Art at Fayetteville State University.
