About This Call
This exhibition is part of the 2nd annual PRIDE in Petersburg. Perspectives Art Gallery is hosting its first PRIDE exhibit featuring artists who identify as LGBTQIA+. "Artist's PRIDE: Pieces of the Holistic World" is a safe place for LGBTQIA+ artists to be seen and appreciated for their art and a place for all community members to show their support for those artists. Artists are encouraged to submit work that is authentic to their voice. The work submitted can be any style regardless of specific theme, or it can be specifically relevant to LGBTQIA+ interests, life, or activism. Artists are encouraged to submit multiple pieces that reflect varying aspects of their artistic voice.
The opening reception will be held June 22 from 12-5pm with light refreshments served. Artwork must remain on exhibit through July 13. Three jurors will select the art to include in the show and award cash prizes: First ($100), Second ($50), and Third ($25). Any art sold will be available for purchase at the time of sale. There is a 5% commission to the gallery from each sale. Payments will be made on or before the last Friday of the month following the sale.
Eligibility: Must be 18 years or older, identify as LGBTQIA+, and be able to deliver and pick up art on specified dates. Art must be from your own reference material. Both 2D and 3D mediums are accepted. Entry fee is $30 for the first entry, with an additional $5 media fee for images 2-20. Submit 3-20 images with title, medium, retail price, and size (HxWxD). Required submissions include artist statement, artist bio, name, phone number, and mailing address. Art must be delivered June 14-15 between 12-5pm and picked up July 14-16 between 12-5pm. All art must be gallery-ready with appropriate hanging wire and include a label with title, medium, artist name, and retail price.
