Artists of Hawai'i 2013

The Honolulu Museum of Art's Artists of Hawai'i exhibition, now in its 60th year, showcases the quality and diversity of art in Hawai'i. The exhibition will run from September 19 – November 24, 2013. This is an open call for all current Hawai'i residents.

Artists are invited to submit images of 3 to 10 recent works that provide an in-depth look at their art. The museum curators will select artists rather than specific works from the submissions and will conduct studio visits with selected artists to choose works for the exhibition. Approximately 8-12 artists will be selected, with each artist having a body of work shown. Cash awards will be presented to some artists in the exhibition.

Works are eligible in any medium or combination of media including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, collage, sculpture, film and video, light works, sound, ceramic, glass, fiber, and jewelry. Submissions must be made in digital format through CaFÉ (www.callforentry.org) from September 15 – October 15, 2012. Artists may submit a minimum of 3 digital images and a maximum of 10 digital images; video artists may submit up to 2 videos along with 8 detail images. An artist's statement (limit 1000 characters) and a brief resume (one page maximum) are required. There is no submission fee. Selected artists will be notified by email on October 30, 2012.
