Artists Invite Artists Proposal

Watershed's summer residency sessions are organized by artists who propose a theme related to clay and recruit other artists to join them for two or three weeks. These Artists Invite Artists (AIA) Groups allow the lead artist and invited artists to collectively shape a creative thematic retreat. AIA sessions are inspired and guided by the leading artists, with time spent in shared exploration and dialogue in the studio rather than formal instruction. While clay is core to the Watershed experience, some AIA artists work in other media as well.

To submit a proposal, you must develop a session theme and recruit at least four (and up to 8) other artists to participate. As the AIA leader, you attend the residency free of charge and your invited artists receive a 15% discount off their residency fees. The entry fee is $15.00. Applicants must submit 1-3 images. Applications are due June 19, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. MDT, and applicants will be notified in early August of their status.
