Artists in Residence in Everglades 2022 Residency

AIRIE, in partnership with Everglades National Park, invites artists to engage with the 2022 residency theme: How can we make the outdoors a space of belonging? The program seeks to address racial equity in environmental movements and amplify historically marginalized voices in environmental conversations. AIRIE believes artists have the communicative ability to lead society toward a more inclusive and just future. Over the past 20 years, the residency has welcomed over 185 artists, writers, curators, choreographers, musicians, and other creatives.

The residency empowers artists to think creatively and critically about their relationship to the environment. Participants gain access to Everglades National Park, knowledgeable rangers, park staff, and the AIRIE community. Entry fee is $10.00. Work samples may include up to 10 images, 5 audio files, and/or 5 video files (maximum 10 total samples). The program is open to international applicants.
