About This Call
The Artists Council Exhibition 2019, honoring Barbara and Jerry Keller, celebrates the culmination of the organization's first year as an independent non-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting art and artists of the greater Coachella Valley. The exhibition will be held at The Galen and Faye Sarkowsky Sculpture Garden at Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert, California, from November 7 through 22, 2019. Prizes totaling $3,000 will be awarded, and attendees at the opening reception on November 7 will have the opportunity to vote for monetary People's Choice Awards.
This exhibition is open to Artists Council members only. Entry fee is $75.00 for up to 3 submissions. Artwork must be verifiably original, created after January 1, 2018, and not previously exhibited at any Artists Council exhibitions. Two- and three-dimensional work is accepted; video work is not. Two-dimensional artwork must be framed (maximum 48" wide by 60" high, minimum 18" on any side) and wired for hanging with all works on paper protected by glass or Plexiglass. Three-dimensional artwork cannot exceed 150 pounds or 72" high by 48" wide by 48" deep. Artwork must be delivered in person to the museum by the artist or their agent by November 4. Only one artwork per applicant will be accepted for exhibition. Artists must provide an artist statement (maximum 1,000 characters) at time of entry. If accepted, the artist agrees to sit in the gallery at least once during the exhibition. Artwork must be available for sale at a price between $500 and $10,000, with proceeds split 50-50 between the artist and the Artists Council. Notification of accepted artists will be sent September 21. Drop-off is Monday, November 4, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Pick-up of unsold works is Saturday, November 23, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
