About This Call
Artist Trust will award 60 Washington State artists of all disciplines with $1,500 Grants for Artist Projects (GAP). Examples of artist projects include materials, equipment, and artist fees needed for the development, completion, or presentation of new work; publication; travel for creative research; documentation; and workshops for professional development. In addition to the 60 GAP recipients, one artist will be awarded a residency at Centrum, a multidisciplinary arts center in Port Townsend, WA, and one artist will be awarded an evening to show their work at The Neptune Theatre in Seattle, WA, as part of the Seattle Theater Group (STG) Nights at the Neptune summer series.
The grant is open to individual generative artists and artist teams working in any creative discipline and residing in Washington State. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and Washington State residents at the time of application and payment (payment may be made up to one year after the application date). Generative artists are those who are the originators of works of art. Applications made in the name of collectives, companies, large groups, or organizations will not be accepted.
Applicants may not be recipients of an Artist Trust GAP or Fellowship from 2011–2015, or recipients of three Artist Trust GAPs total in a lifetime. Applicants may not be recipients of more than one Artist Trust grant per calendar year, previous recipients of the James W. Ray Distinguished Artist or Arts Innovator Award, graduate or undergraduate matriculated students enrolled in any degree program at the deadline date, or current Artist Trust staff, Board of Trustees, honorary committee, consultants, contractors, current GAP panelists, or their immediate family. Work samples may include up to 10 images, 3 audio files, and 3 video files (10 total samples maximum).
