About This Call
The Gallery at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) is seeking artists for a residency program that fosters artistic exploration and collaboration. Four residencies will be awarded, each lasting three weeks in the Spring Semester 2025. Residency dates are January 27–February 14 and February 24–March 14. Two residencies are designated for Mercer County artists, and two for artists residing outside the county.
Resident artists will be assigned one of two gallery side spaces to create an exhibition or performance-based project, with the opportunity to showcase work concurrently with another resident artist. During the residency, artists are required to collaborate with MCCC students on their project or conduct workshops in the main gallery space. The gallery welcomes proposals in all media, including painting, sculpture, installation, performance, photography, and video. Upon successful completion of the residency, artists will receive a $300 stipend.
Applications must include a portfolio (minimum 10 images of recent work), artist resume with current address, artist statement, and project proposal (up to 5 additional images) specific to the gallery space and clearly outlining student engagement through collaboration or workshops. The application fee is $35. Applications will be reviewed based on artistic merit, project feasibility, and potential for student engagement. Artists are responsible for transporting artwork and materials to and from the gallery and must return the space to its original condition. Gallery side spaces are primarily designed for exhibitions, not studios, and facilities are limited.
