About This Call
Idrawalot Collective offers a one-month free live and studio residency in Berlin, Germany for working professional and emerging artists of all mediums and disciplines. The residency is located in the hub of Berlin's contemporary art scene and provides valuable resources and networking opportunities with local and international artists, galleries, and the broader art community.
Accommodations include a private bedroom in a shared apartment with full amenities (bathroom, living room with balcony, laundry machine, kitchen), located in the same building as the artist studio. The studio is a large room with high ceilings, two street-facing windows, and access to a basement with screen printing equipment, storage for art materials, a large work table, and a drawing light table. Studio space is shared with artist Addison Karl, with 24-hour building access. Amenities include Wi-Fi, visiting artist programs, video documentation, social media support, a mural wall, and a stipend for art supplies.
The residency is free, though applicants are responsible for flight, transportation to Berlin, local transportation, food, and miscellaneous expenses. Residency dates are flexible between February and May 2014 on a first-come, first-served basis for selected artists. Application deadline is February 28, 2014, with notification of acceptance during the first week of March 2014. Applicants must submit an artist bio and CV, written explanation of interest, list of 3 references, images of previous works (3-6 images), and pay a $40 processing fee.
