About This Call
KCArtistLink is accepting applications for the seventh round of its Artist INC professional development program. Artist INC is a cutting edge training seminar that addresses the specific business needs and challenges artists of all disciplines face every day. Limited to 25 participants per session, artists gather for one night a week for eight weeks to learn business skills specific to their art practice and apply those skills cooperatively with their peers. Using an innovative class design, artists learn and grow together through artist facilitator mentoring, small group application activities, as well as large group discussion and multi-media lecture.
The program will be held on Monday nights from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, February 27 to April 16, 2012 (8 sessions total). Applicants of all artistic disciplines must complete a narrative application form and submit their resume/CV online. Work sample requirements vary by discipline: Visual Artists must submit 4 digital images; Performing Artists, Dancers and Filmmakers must submit up to 4 video samples; Writers must submit up to 8 representative pages; Musicians must submit up to 4 audio files. The application deadline is December 12, 2011 at 5:00 pm. Applicants will be notified of decisions in mid-January.
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must live within an 80 mile radius of downtown Kansas City, MO. Applicants who will be enrolled in a program of undergraduate or graduate study during the workshop are ineligible to apply. If selected, there is a $150 participant fee. Participants are required to attend all sessions of the workshop, barring illness or emergency. For assistance with online submissions, contact Diane Scott at [email protected].
