Artist INC II

Artist INC is accepting applications for the inaugural round of Artist INC II, an extension of the Artist INC Live experience. In this program, artists and their peers work together to use the skills and concepts introduced in Artist INC Live and apply them systematically to a specific project each artist has chosen to pursue.

Over the course of eight weeks, artists will focus on specific skills and apply them to the creation of an in-depth proposal for their individual projects. The process will empower artists to take their projects to completion by creating action plans for developing, marketing, budgeting, financing and communicating the message of their projects. Through a combination of innovative large group exercises, expert instruction and guidance, peer critiques and participation in an actual selection panel, artists will be part of a catalyzing experience furthering both their business skills and their art.

The workshop is held on Monday nights from 6:30 to 9:30 pm starting September 17 through November 5th, with the finale presentation event on Friday, November 9th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. The culminating event will be held in the Crossroads Art District and will feature a Bread! dinner, vote and grant to the winning artist. Applicants must live within an 80 mile radius of downtown Kansas City, MO. Only alumni of the Creative Capital Core Curriculum or Artist INC Live sessions held in Kansas City between 2007 and 2012 are eligible to apply. Applicants will be notified of participant decisions in early August 2012. Applicants must submit a resume/CV and digital work samples (up to 4 images, 4 audio files, and/or 4 video files) that support their proposed project.
