About This Call
KCArtistLink is accepting applications for the sixth round of its Artist INC professional development program. The program runs on Monday nights from September 19th through November 7th, 2011, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm (8 sessions total). Artist INC is a training seminar addressing the business needs and challenges artists of all disciplines face. Limited to 25 participants per session, artists gather for one night a week for eight weeks to learn business skills specific to their art practice and apply those skills cooperatively with their peers. The program uses an innovative class design with artist facilitator mentoring, small group application activities, large group discussion, and multi-media lecture.
Applicants of all artistic disciplines must complete a narrative application form and submit their resume/CV online. Work sample requirements vary by discipline: Visual Artists must submit 4 digital images; Performing Artists, Dancers, and Filmmakers must submit up to 4 minutes of digital video on CD/DVD; Writers must submit up to 8 representative pages; Musicians must submit up to 4 minutes of digital audio on CD/DVD. All applications and work samples must be submitted by 5:00 pm on Monday, June 27, 2011. Applicants will be notified of decisions in mid-August.
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must live within an 80 mile radius of downtown Kansas City, MO. Applicants enrolled in undergraduate or graduate study during the workshop are ineligible. If selected, there is a $150 participant fee. Participants are required to attend all sessions, barring illness or emergency. For assistance with online submissions, contact Diane Scott at 816-235-6769 or [email protected].
