About This Call
Artist INC Collegiate is a training seminar addressing the business needs and challenges artists of all disciplines face. The special summer collegiate session brings together 24 competitively selected participants (12 from the UMKC Conservatory and 12 from the Kansas City Art Institute) for 3-hour bi-weekly sessions over four weeks. Participants learn business skills specific to their art and practice through artist facilitator mentoring, small group application activities, large group discussion, and multi-media lecture.
Eligibility is limited to currently enrolled seniors from the Kansas City Art Institute and currently enrolled students of the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance. All eight seminar sessions will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on the UMKC campus at 4747 Troost Ave, Room 114. There is a $150 participant fee (credit card payment available). Due to program subsidization, participants are required to attend all sessions, barring illness or emergency. Applications, including narrative questions and support materials, must be submitted through CaFE by 5:00 pm on Friday, March 29th. Work samples may include up to 4 images, 4 audio files, and/or 4 video files (maximum 4 total samples). For application difficulties, contact Diane Scott at [email protected].
