Artist in Residence: The Paseo Project, Taos, NM

The Paseo Project Artist in Residence Program provides an opportunity for artists to envision, develop, and execute their work with the community of Taos, New Mexico. This project-based residency is set within a rural environment steeped in history, art, and culture. The program is open to emerging, mid-career, and professional artists from anywhere in the world.

Selected artists are offered a 2-4 week residency between April-November 2023. Benefits include use of shared studio/office space at the HUB (a creative co-working space in Taos), private one-bedroom accommodations located five minutes from Taos Plaza, and a stipend of up to $2,000 depending on the length of stay. A bike is available for use during the residency; a car is recommended as public transportation is limited. Additional studio and work spaces are available within the Historic District. Artists work closely with the organization and local collaborators to research, design, and perform their work in the high desert of Northern New Mexico.

Artists are asked to conduct a community engagement project and share, present, or install their work at the culmination of their stay or during the annual PASEO Festival in the fall. Application requirements include a project statement, project proposal, artist bio/resume/CV, and reference images and/or videos (3-5 images and up to 3 videos). Entry fee is $15.00.
