About This Call
The Brick Store Museum invites artists to participate in "From Many, One: Visions of American Patriotism at 250," an exhibition opening May 2026. As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, this exhibition asks artists to explore how the idea of patriotism has evolved over the past two and a half centuries and how it continues to shape shared and individual identities today. The exhibition seeks to amplify a fuller chorus of American experience by especially welcoming submissions from artists whose perspectives have been historically underrepresented. Artworks will be paired with historic artifacts representing local Revolutionary history.
All visual art forms are welcome, including painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, textiles, installation, and digital art. Up to 3 works may be submitted for consideration, though only one will be selected. Each submission must include the title, medium, dimensions, and a brief artist statement (150 words maximum) describing how the work connects to the exhibition theme. All work must be original and available for display during the exhibition period. Artwork will be evaluated based on relevance to the theme, overall artistic merit, and condition. Works must be professionally presented and ready for display; framing and mounting quality will be considered during selection.
Submission deadline is March 6, 2026. Artists will be notified of acceptance by March 20, 2026. The exhibition runs May 16 – August 23, 2026. Artists are responsible for all costs and arrangements related to delivery and pickup of artwork. Accepted works must be delivered ready for installation during April 28 – May 5. All works must be picked up within the designated timeframe following the close of the exhibition (August 25-29). Submit all materials in a single email to [email protected] with subject line "America250 Exhibit – [Your Last Name]."
