About This Call
Artist Alliance members are invited to submit their artwork for a public critique session at Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA). This in-depth and constructive critique is aimed at full-time professional artists. Artists must submit 3-5 works for consideration along with their professional portfolio website or social media account.
A maximum of 10 artists will be selected for the critique, with one artwork per artist. The jurors are Paul Ecdao (Co-owner/Curator of Thumbprint Gallery), Billy Gross (LA-based Art Manager and Dealer), and Rokhsane Hovaida (California Center for the Arts, Escondido). The critique session will take place on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 6:00–9:00pm. Selected artists must be able to attend the event. The session will be followed by a moderated audience Q&A. Art lovers and artists curious about the critique process are encouraged to attend for free as observers.
Artwork may be in any media or style (3D, 2D, or video) and must be no larger than 96" in any direction. All work must be presented ready for display and the artist must be able to transport it to the museum. Artwork cannot be installed the night of the event; materials must be able to self-support or a rigid backing must be brought. Portfolio website or social media and CV are required. Entry fee is $10 for 3-5 submissions. Scholarships are available; contact [email protected] for consideration. Participants must be current OMA members with the Artist Alliance affiliate membership add-on. Notifications of selected artworks will be announced on or before Thursday, November 13, 2025.
