Art Works Downtown: Fiber

Art Works Downtown seeks to showcase artwork with innovative techniques, materials, subject matter, or concepts in the genre of Fiber Art. This exhibition is open to SF Bay Area artists only (within 100 miles from San Rafael, California). Fiber media only; original artwork only, no giclees or reproductions.

Entry fee is $40 for up to 3 entries, with a discount provided for AWD Artist Members. Submit 1-3 images via callforentry.org only; AWD will not accept hardcopy, email, or disk submissions. Entry deadline is December 12, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notification by email will be sent by December 19 or 20. Accepted work must be hand delivered to Art Works Downtown classroom, 1337 Fourth St., San Rafael, on January 3, 2015 between 10am-4pm. Work must be prepared to install and wall hung work must be securely wired. Artists must deliver an artist statement and resume and sign a consignment contract upon delivery. Receptions are scheduled for January 9 and February 13, 5-8pm. Unsold artwork may be picked up February 28, 10am-4pm; works not retrieved will be charged a storage fee of $1.00 per day and become property of Art Works Downtown after 30 days.

Art Works Downtown accepts a 40% donation upon sale. Insurance coverage for exhibited work is based on the value entered on the entry form; artists may provide additional insurance. The juror is Richard Elliott, Associate Professor and former Chair in the Textiles program at California College of the Arts in Oakland.
