Art Without Walls

Art Without Walls is a sculpture loan program sponsored by the City of Los Altos Public Arts Commission. Selected artworks will be exhibited in business districts, parks, and green spaces across the city for a two-year period. The outdoor gallery is open year-round and free for all visitors.

Artists whose work is selected receive a $1,500 stipend to help cover insurance, transportation, and other costs. Both the artist and their work will be promoted through local media and in the Art Without Walls walking tour brochure. The program is currently seeking new works representing a variety of outdoor sculpture styles including kinetic, lighted, mosaics, and large or small pieces of outdoor sculpture.

Sculptures should have bases measuring from 3' x 3' to 6' x 6'. Other installations must fit within the constraints of selected venues, leaving adequate space for pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Applications must include a completed entry form, minimum 3 color photos from different perspectives (including 1 close-up of artwork detail), a brief description, artist biography, and any supplemental installation guidelines. Artists may submit up to 20 art pieces, with each piece requiring a separate application. The program is open to all artists whose artwork meets the required sculpture specifications.
