Art With a Bayou View

Art With a Bayou View is the first annual juried competition presented by the University of Louisiana at Monroe in partnership with the Monroe Symphony Orchestra, Premier Plaza, and with support of the Monroe Symphony Orchestra. The exhibition will be held at the ULM Library Conference Center in Monroe, Louisiana on November 22-23, 2013.

Eligibility: Submitting artists must be 18 years or older, reside in the United States, and work in 2 or 3 dimensional mediums including original paintings, photographs, printmaking, pottery, ceramics, woodwork, and sculpture. Ineligible work includes reproductions and offset prints, audio/video/performance media, crafts, and work not original to the submitting artist. Each artist may submit a minimum of two works and a maximum of five in digital format. Two dimensional work may not exceed 50 inches in either direction. Three dimensional work must not exceed 4 feet in height, 3 feet on the long side, or 100 pounds in weight. Entry fee is $10 per artwork ($20 minimum for two entries, $50 maximum for five entries). The juror is Edwin Pinkston.

Awards: Best in Show is $500 with total awards of $1,000. Artist notification will be by postcard and email on October 28, 2013. Delivery of accepted artwork is November 20, 2013 between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm to Room 13, Bry Hall. The reception is November 22, 2013 from 6 pm to 9 pm with the juror's talk at 7 pm. Each accepted artist receives two complimentary reception tickets. Artwork may be picked up November 22 between 9 pm and 10 pm or November 23 between 9 am and 12 noon. No commission is charged on sales of accepted artwork.
