About This Call
Art Under the Oaks Fine Art Festival is celebrating its 56th year as the premier Fine Art Festival on St. Simons Island. Held in the beautiful live oak covered Postell Park in the heart of the Village, just steps from the ocean on St. Simons Island, the festival hosts over 60 juried talented artists from around the region. Organized and hosted by art enthusiasts, Glynn Visual Arts' Art Under the Oaks continues to be recognized for its careful attention to artists' success, community partnerships, a beautiful location, and a fun weekend.
The festival takes place Saturday and Sunday, September 27 & 28 from 10am to 5pm. Each 10' x 10' space is $240, and artists must furnish their own WHITE tent, display tables, skirting and chairs. Check-in is Friday, September 26, from noon to 5pm. The application is free and requires 7 images plus a booth shot. Accepted categories include 2-D Mixed Media, 3-D Mixed Media, Ceramics, Digital Art, Drawing & Printmaking, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Metal, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, and Wood & Furniture.
Artist amenities include daily morning coffee, snacks, "Art Angels" for booth breaks, and friendly staff. The festival averages 80 applications each year with approximately 65 artists selected. No more than 20% of booth space may consist of reproductions, and artists may only show and sell work from the category in which they have been accepted. The event takes place rain or shine with no refunds given after acceptance.
