Art to Amuse & Delight

Falkirk Cultural Center invites artists residing within the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area to submit original work for this exhibition. The theme is "Art to Amuse & Delight," seeking work that might elicit feelings of amusement and delight to provide an uplifting experience for visitors.

Artists may submit up to 3 separate pieces of original work completed in the past two years, not previously shown at Falkirk Cultural Center. All media are accepted except jewelry or videography. Work must be submitted digitally by July 18, 2022 at 11:59pm MST. Entry fee is $40 for one entry, $10 for a second entry, and $5 for a third. An additional $7.50 media fee applies. Accepted artists will be notified by July 25, 2022. Hand delivery of artwork is required on August 15, 2022 between 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm. The exhibition runs August 19 - September 23, 2022.

2D artwork must not exceed 48 x 48 inches and 30 pounds total weight; all works on paper must be framed. 3D artwork must not exceed 48 x 48 x 48 inches and 70 pounds. Diptychs and triptychs count as one piece with an overall maximum width of 72 inches and height of 96 inches. All artwork must be ready to display with proper hanging hardware or stable installation. Awards include 1st place $100, 2nd place $75, and 3rd place $50, presented at the opening reception on August 19 at 6pm. A People's Choice Award with no monetary value will be determined by visitor voting throughout the exhibition. Falkirk Cultural Center retains a 30% commission on all sales.
