Art Students League of Denver: A League of Book Works

An artistic exploration of the book form, from concept to codex, The League of Book Works is a national juried exhibition highlighting the best in contemporary handmade book art as chosen by juror Alicia Bailey, owner/director of Abecedarian Gallery in Denver, Colorado.

Eligible books are any handmade book work, not including self-published on-demand books. Books may be editioned or unique, traditional or sculptural, and must measure less than 18 inches closed or 36 inches open in any direction. Work must have been completed in the last two years. Artists may submit up to two pieces, with each entry costing $25. Submissions may include a maximum of three images per piece. Artists must be at least 18 years of age.

All artwork entered must be for sale, with the artist receiving 60% of the sale price. Sale proceeds will be paid to the artist within 30 days of the end of the show. Artwork is insured for 60% of its retail value against theft or total loss while on premises. All shipping and shipping insurance costs to and from the gallery are the responsibility of the artist. Artists will be notified of their selection on September 10, 2012. The exhibit opens October 1, 2012, with an opening reception on October 5, 2012 from 6-9 pm, and closes November 21, 2012.
