Art Steamboat 2015

Art Steamboat is a juried art competition and exhibition, part of the Steamboat All Arts Festival. The competition showcases two-dimensional artworks from artists in a seven-state region including Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming.

Eligibility: Open to all two-dimensional artworks of original concept and design created within the last two years. One artwork piece per artist. Acceptable media include painting (oil, acrylic, water media, pastel, encaustic, and egg tempera) and drawing (conte crayon, colored pencil, graphite, pen & ink, scratchboard). Not accepted: craft, jewelry, photography, computer-generated elements, prints, textile or fiber art. Unframed artwork must not exceed 30 inches in length or width. Entry fee: $40.00.

Up to thirty finalists will be selected by professional jury and displayed in art galleries and alternative venues in Steamboat Springs from August 3-31, 2015. Awards: $10,000 First Place, $2,500 Second Place, $1,000 Third Place, and People's Choice Award. Selected artists will be notified by June 30, 2015. All artwork must be for sale; the competition retains 40% of the sale price (30% to displaying gallery, 10% to Steamboat Springs Arts Council), with 60% paid to the artist. Artwork must be delivered ready to hang and dry to the touch. All shipping costs and insurance are the artist's responsibility.
