About This Call
Art St. Louis XXXVI, The Exhibition is the 36th annual juried exhibition featuring artworks in all media, themes, subjects, techniques, and styles. The exhibition is open to artists 21 years of age and older living in the St. Louis, Missouri region and surrounding 200-mile radius. Artists must be residents of the St. Louis region/200-mile radius when the show begins on November 14, 2020, in order to submit work and participate if selected.
The juror is Meredith Malone, Associate Curator at the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum at Washington University in St. Louis. The jurying process maintains a blind/anonymous process where the juror views all artworks in an anonymous digital presentation with only artwork title, year, media, dimensions, method of display, and optional artist's statement provided. Awards of Excellence will be selected by the juror and include one $250 Best of Show Award of Excellence and four non-cash Awards of Excellence. All five award recipients will be eligible for the "Honor Awards 2022" ten-artist curated exhibit presented at Art Saint Louis, June 11-July 14, 2022.
The exhibition will be held at Art Saint Louis Gallery, 1223 Pine Street in downtown St. Louis, MO, from November 14-December 17, 2020. A free reception and awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020, 5-7 p.m. Entry fees are $20 for Art Saint Louis members and $40 for non-members. Artists may submit 1-10 images and 0-5 videos (maximum 15 total samples). Artworks must be created/completed between 2017-2020, not previously exhibited in any juried exhibit in the St. Louis region during the 6 months prior to exhibit dates, and not previously exhibited at Art Saint Louis Gallery. Limit 5 original artworks per artist. 2-D works must be framed or have pre-approved alternate professional presentation. Final installation size on all 2-D and wall-displayed work may not exceed 72"w x 72"h, including frame. Weight limit for 2-D wall-installed works is 30 lbs. All wall-installed works must hang from standard picture hanging hardware.
