Art Springs 2019

Art Springs is a free 2-day outdoor juried festival held at Hill Wheatley Plaza in downtown historic Hot Springs. The festival runs Saturday, April 27 from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday, April 28 from 10 am to 4 pm. Art Springs 2018 had over 7,500 attendees and features an Art Village for fine artists and artisans, a Marketplace for fine crafts, children's art activities, art demonstrations, and free family-friendly entertainment. Food trucks and beverages are available on site, and festival hotel discounts are offered at selected downtown hotels.

The call is open to artists and fine crafters/makers 18 years or older. Artists must submit 6 images representative of their work and a photo of their typical booth if possible. All art and crafts must be original and created by the applicant. Artists must be in attendance for the duration of the festival and may only exhibit works in the media they were juried into. Fine art booths may include reproductions (cards, prints) comprising no more than 25% of inventory. All jewelry must be hand-crafted with no more than 40% purchased components. Crafters may only offer hand-made items, which may contain purchased or reclaimed components. Hand-made food items such as jellies and soaps are permitted. Artists are encouraged to demonstrate their art in their booth.

A juried panel of 3 jurors will select up to 60 artists, artisans, and crafters. Consideration may be given to applicants with ties to the greater Hot Springs area and Arkansas, area of art, willingness to demonstrate, and application date. Three booth awards are given on Sunday: People's Choice, Artists' Choice, and HSACA Board Choice. Each winner receives a cash award and a free booth for Art Springs 2020. Regular application fee is $30 with a deadline of March 31, 2019. Regular booth fees are $100 (single, no electricity), $125 (single, with electricity), $200 (double, no electricity), or $250 (double, with electricity). Artists are responsible for their own tents, tables, chairs, displays, extension cords, and booth signage. White tents are preferred and must be weighted down. All tables must be draped to the ground. Setup is Friday, May 4 from 2-6 pm and Saturday, May 5 from 7 am-9:45 am. Tear down is Sunday, April 28 from 4-6 pm.
