Art Springs 2018

Art Springs is a free 2-day outdoor juried arts festival held at Hill Wheatley Plaza in downtown historic Hot Springs, Arkansas on May 5-6, 2018. The festival is part of the annual 10-day Hot Springs culture celebration – Arts & The Park. Art Springs features fine artist and fine artisan booths, a children's art activity area, art demonstrations, and free family-friendly entertainment. Food trucks and beverages will be on site, and festival hotel discounts will be available at downtown hotels. The 2017 festival attracted over 3,500 visitors from Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, and other states and countries.

The call is open to all artists 18 years or older. Artists must submit 4-6 images representative of their work and include a photo of their typical booth if possible. All art must be original and created by the applicant. Artists may only exhibit works in the media they were juried into. All jewelry must be hand-crafted and contain no more than 40% purchased components. Reproductions may comprise no more than 25% of inventory. Artists must be in attendance for the duration of the festival and are encouraged to demonstrate their art in their booth. Artists are responsible for their own tents, tables, chairs, displays, grounded extension cords, and dollies/carts. White tents are preferred and must be weighted down (no ground anchoring permitted). All tables must be draped to the ground, and all boxes and packing materials must be hidden from view.

Up to 50 artists will be selected through a juried process by a panel of 3-4 jurors. Three booth awards are given on Sunday, May 6: People's Choice, Artists' Choice, and HSACA Board Choice. Each category winner receives a $75 cash award and a free booth for Art Springs 2019. Regular application fee is $30 with a deadline of March 15, 2018. Regular booth fees are $100 (single, no electricity), $125 (single, with electricity), $200 (double, no electricity), or $250 (double, with electricity). Setup times are Friday, May 4, 2-6 pm and Saturday, May 5, 7:00 am-9:45 am. Festival hours are Saturday 10 am-6 pm and Sunday 10 am-4 pm. Tear down is Sunday 4-6 pm.
