About This Call
Art Springs is a free 2-day outdoor juried festival held at Hill Wheatley Plaza in downtown historic Hot Springs. The festival takes place Saturday, May 7 (10 am – 6 pm) and Sunday, May 8 (11 am – 4 pm), 2016, and features Arkansas artists and artisans as part of the annual Arts & The Park celebration.
Eligibility and Application: Any artist 18 years or older who resides in Arkansas is welcome to apply. The $20 application fee must be received by February 15, 2016. Applicants must submit 4 images representative of their work. All art must be original and created by the applicant; reproductions may comprise no more than 25% of inventory. A juried panel of 3-4 jurors will review applications and select artists based in Arkansas, with consideration given to ties to the Hot Springs area, art medium, willingness to demonstrate, and application date. Selected artists will be notified via email by March 4, 2016, and must confirm participation by April 1, 2016.
Booth Information and Requirements: Single booths are 10' x 10' ($75 without electric, $95 with electric); double booths are 20' x 10' ($150 without electric, $190 with electric). Booth fees cover both days and must be paid in full by April 15, 2016. Up to 40 booths may be assigned. Artists must provide their own tents, tables, chairs, displays, grounded extension cords, and weights for tents. All tables must be draped to the ground, and boxes and packing materials must be hidden. Artists are responsible for delivery, setup, removal of work and equipment, and keeping their area clean. The venue is blacktop/concrete; tents may not be anchored to the ground. No televisions, radios, CD players, or generators are permitted during show hours. All prices must be clearly marked; no sales or discount signs are permitted. Artists must be in attendance for the duration of the festival and are encouraged to demonstrate their art. The event will proceed rain or shine; in case of inclement weather, the Promoter may move the event to a nearby covered venue on Exchange Street and will notify artists by 8 pm on May 6. There will be no refunds or credits given.
