About This Call
Art Spoken is an annual Valdosta National Exhibition celebrating African American Arts. The exhibition invites artists to submit works of art that speak to the power and impact of BIPOC inclusivity and education, serving as a celebration of Black Culture. All media is welcomed, including 2D, 3D, and 4D work.
Chosen juried artworks will be exhibited alongside artwork by Valdosta State University students in The Dedo Maranville Fine Arts Gallery. During this month-long exhibition, departments from the College of The Arts will participate in a variety of programming including song, dance, music, poetry, and other forms of art open to students, faculty, and the community.
Eligibility: Open to all artists over 18 living in the United States. All work must have been completed in the last 5 years and be original (no giclées or reproductions). Work previously shown at the Dedo Maranville Gallery will not be considered. Valdosta State University faculty and staff are ineligible. Entry fee is $20.00. Submit 1-3 images, and optionally up to 1 audio file and/or 1 video file. Images submitted must accurately represent the artwork. Artwork will be insured while in the gallery (deductible may apply) but not during transit. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the exhibition. Artwork may be for sale with no gallery sales commission.
