Art on the Wild Side

Art on the Wild Side is a juried exhibition hosted by the Phoenix Zoo and ACNC. Applications are accepted online through ShowSubmit.com from August 1, 2024, through September 30, 2024, by 11:59 p.m. MST. Finalists will be announced no later than October 15, 2024.

Acceptable mediums include painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, egg tempera, pastel, color ink, and encaustic), drawing (conte crayon, colored pencil, graphite, charcoal, pen & ink, scratchboard, and original hand-pulled prints), mixed medium and collage pieces using listed materials, textiles or fabric art, and original photography. Craft, jewelry, digital prints, and work containing computer-generated elements are not acceptable. Entries must be original works of original concept and design. Artists may submit up to four entries for a $50 entry fee. All works submitted must be available for sale. Artists will retain copyright to their images.

Artwork must arrive at the Phoenix Zoo by February 15, 2025. The exhibition opens to the public on February 27, 2025, with an opening reception and awards ceremony on March 7, 2025. The exhibit closes on June 29, 2025, with pick-up of unsold work on June 30, 2025. Images must be submitted as high-quality JPEG files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB.
