Art On The TART 10th Street Trailhead

The Traverse City Arts Commission and TART Trails are seeking an individual artist to create, fabricate, and install public art at the Tenth Street trailhead along the Boardman Lake Trail in Downtown Traverse City. The art installation will enhance the trailhead and trail experience while strengthening its connection with the nearby Old Town Neighborhood. The Tenth Street trailhead services the Boardman Lake Loop, a 6-mile non-motorized trail around Boardman Lake.

This project is part of the "Art on the TART" program, a partnership between the Traverse City Arts Commission and TART Trails to connect outdoor recreation with the arts. The Tenth Street location is the first of two planned trailhead installations. The Arts Commission and TART have dedicated $10,000 toward the installation of art at this location. Non-sculpture pieces are highly encouraged, including multisensory, multifunctional (such as furniture), and immersive works.

Submission Requirements: Artists may submit up to 16 images, 1 audio file, and 3 video files (minimum 1 total sample required). Entry deadline is January 31, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MST. For questions, contact [email protected].
