Art on the Street 2019 - Lafayette, Colorado

Exhibit your sculpture in Old Town Lafayette, Colorado. The Art on the Street program features 20 sculpture locations. Selected artists receive a $750 honorarium for a one-year installation. Two additional prizes are awarded: the $1,000 Jean Mellblom Award for Artistic Excellence and the $250 People's Choice Award. Artists traveling more than 250 miles away will receive an additional $100 lodging/travel stipend.

Submit up to 3 photos of one sculpture per application. A photo with a yardstick or size reference is helpful. Multiple applications are allowed, with only one sculpture per application. Installation is scheduled for April 2-4, 2019, with rain/snow dates of April 9-11, 2019. Public works crew will install artwork to steel pedestals or concrete pads with metal inserts under artist supervision and assistance.

Each sculpture will be featured on its own web page with artist information and statement. Brochures are printed in English and Spanish, and artist websites will be linked for additional exposure. The mobile app Activate Lafayette! will provide access to all Art on the Street sculpture locations. The official artists' reception, Art on the Street: See & Respond! Meet the Artists Reception, is held in mid-October at the Lafayette Public Library. Each selected artist receives 2 tickets to this event. Jury selections will be made in November 2018, with artist notifications in December 2018.
