About This Call

Art on the Move (AOTM) is an art on loan program that exhibits artwork by regional artists in Longmont, Colorado for up to one year. This year includes an indoor installation space in the program. Artwork may include installation, 2D, fiber art, and photography. Artwork must be durable, tolerant to natural light and interaction with the public. All media will be considered; however, work submitted for review must conform to available space.

Regional artists are invited to submit a visual checklist of up to 20 available artworks (with dimensions) for the committee to choose for the loan. Submit only images of proposed work that are available to loan. The selection committee will consider appropriateness, durability, uniqueness, compatibility with the available site, and safety. All works must tolerate direct sunlight and individual pieces that may fade will not be considered. Artwork must be appropriate for public display and will not be considered if the work could be interpreted as offensive, religious, or political in nature.

Selected artists will receive a $1,000 stipend for the entire wall display after delivery and installation. The City of Longmont will be responsible for physical and financial installation of all artwork. The artist is responsible for completing a City contract, submitting installation plans prior to scheduling delivery, providing specialty hardware if needed, transporting the artwork for installation and de-installation, and following the terms of the contract. The City will not be responsible for storing packaging through the duration of the loan. Submissions must include up to 20 different available artworks, a letter of interest and/or artist statement (limit 400 words), resume or CV, annotated visual checklist with title, year, medium/materials, dimensions, current location, value, approximate weight, date of availability, installation method and hardware, and contact information. Submissions are accepted exclusively through callforentry.org.
