About This Call

Art On The Move is a public art loan program that displays works by regional artists in Longmont, Colorado. The Art in Public Places Commission seeks to display unique, original artwork of diverse range in predetermined spaces selected by the panel. Artwork must be size and scale appropriate to available space, suitable for public display, and will not be considered if it could be interpreted as offensive, religious, or political in nature. No additional lighting will be provided.

Artwork must be durable and able to withstand all weather conditions. Outdoor sculptures must be capable of withstanding extreme climate conditions including intense sunlight, strong winds, hail, freezing temperatures, ice, and snow. Indoor work must be tolerant to natural light and interaction with the public. All media will be considered, provided work adheres to available space criteria. Selected artists will receive a $1,000 stipend per piece after delivery and installation. The City of Longmont is responsible for physical and financial installation. The artist is responsible for completing a City contract, submitting installation plans prior to delivery, providing specialty hardware, transporting artwork for installation and de-installation, and managing packaging.

Regional artists may submit up to three different pieces, with one image per submission. Submissions must include a letter of interest and/or artist statement (limit 1,000 words), resume or CV, annotated image list with title, year, medium/materials, dimensions, current location, value, approximate weight, and date of availability. Artwork dimensions, base dimensions, preferred installation method, packaging dimensions, and equipment requirements must be included. Artists must provide contact information including name, physical address, email, phone, and website. Artwork must be completed and available for installation in summer 2022. Submissions are accepted exclusively through callforentry.org.
