Art on the Move (AOTM) 2021-2022

Art on the Move is a public art exhibition program that provides an opportunity to view and experience a variety of new artwork each year. Regional artists are invited to submit work for consideration in this indoor exhibition.

Artwork must be durable, tolerant to natural light and interaction with the public. All media will be considered; however, work must adhere to available space criteria and be mindful of the existing low ceiling and chair rail. Artwork must be appropriate for public display and will not be considered if it could be interpreted as offensive, religious, or political in nature. No additional lighting will be provided.

Submissions must include: up to ten different available artworks with dimensions, a maximum of three example images of the body of work, a letter of interest or artist statement (limit 400 words), resume or CV, an annotated visual checklist with title, year, medium/materials, dimensions, current location, value, approximate weight, and date of availability, installation method and hardware specifications, and contact information. Selected artists will receive a $1,000 stipend for the entire wall display after delivery and installation. The City of Longmont will be responsible for physical and financial installation. The artist is responsible for completing a City contract, submitting installation plans prior to delivery, providing specialty hardware if needed, and transporting artwork for installation and de-installation. The City will not store packaging during the loan period. Submissions are accepted exclusively through callforentry.org. Timeline: Spring 2021 – Call opens; May 1, 2021 – Submission deadline; May – Selection; May/June – Contracts distributed; Summer 2021 – Artwork delivered and installed; Summer 2022 – Loan period ends and artwork is de-installed and picked up by artists.
