About This Call

The River Falls Community Arts Base presents the 30th year of Art on the Kinni (AOK), a juried fair held annually on the first Saturday after Labor Day along the banks of the Kinnickinnic River in downtown River Falls. The event features 80+ artists with art and traditional crafts for sale and draws nearly 6,000 visitors for this one-day event. Downtown River Falls is just steps away, offering boutiques, antiques, breweries, and dining options.

This juried Fine Art Festival showcases artisans featuring specialty hand-crafted items in all media including ceramics, culinary arts, drawing, fiber work, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, wood and more. Prizes are awarded to Best in Show and two runners-up. In its second year, the event will offer a "Crafter's Village" at the northern entrance comprising booths with culinary and other fine crafts. AOK will determine whether applications fall into the Fine Art or Craft category and place booths appropriately.

Booth cost is $100, with a limited number of double booths available for $200 (first purchased, first served). Booth spaces are generally 12' wide by 10' deep along a park pathway. Vehicle access and setup occur Friday, September 11, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 12, from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. All displays must be ready by 9:30 a.m. and remain open during the entire event (10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). Artist booths and materials must be removed by 7:30 p.m. after the festival closes. Application fee is $25. Full refund of booth cost is available if notice is received by August 12. Work must be handcrafted; commercial molds, kits, patterns, and copyrighted designs not owned by the artist are not permitted. Buy/sell items are not allowed. All artists must be onsite during the festival with no early exits. Tents are suggested, and booth sandbags or other wind resistance with a minimum weight of 40 lbs. per corner pole is required.
