Art on the Edge

Ullr Fest will celebrate 57 years this December 11-15, 2019. The Town of Breckenridge and Summit County Arts Council (SCAC) invite artists to showcase their work by decorating snowboards or skis as canvas. The decorated boards and skis will be exhibited at the Arts Alive Gallery on Main Street, Breckenridge starting November 4, 2019 through December 12, 2019. The artwork will be auctioned at the Art on the Edge event on December 14 at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge, with pieces presented runway style by ski and snowboard athletes. Proceeds benefit SCAC's educational outreach programs. Accepted artists will receive complementary tickets to the event and a $200 honorarium upon delivery of artwork.

Artists may work with decorated snowboards or skis in any size, using any medium. Work may be 2D painted or constructed as 3D art pieces, oriented horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Each entry can consist of one board/ski, a diptych (2 boards/skis), or a triptych (3 boards/skis). Up to three artists may collaborate on a single entry. Detailed design or photos of finished pieces must be submitted by September 8, 2019 by midnight. A one-page artist biography per artist is required. The entry fee is $10 (non-refundable) for up to 3 entries. Boards/skis must be delivered to Arts Alive Gallery (500 S. Main Street, Breckenridge, CO 80424) by November 3, 2019 by 5 p.m. and must be ready to stand on their own or be hung. Jurying takes place September 9-13, 2019, with notification of accepted artists on September 15, 2019.
