About This Call

Art on the Corner is an outdoor public art exhibition open to 3D sculpture artists. The exhibition will be curated by Brian Harrison and Troy Reynolds, both with extensive history with the program. All sculptures must be original creations by the artist.

Artists may apply up to 3 times, with each application featuring one sculpture and 3-5 photographs taken from different angles. Applications must include sculpture information (title, material, dimensions, weight, special installation requirements, value, selling price) and an artist statement. The application deadline is midnight MST on Saturday, August 5, 2023, submitted via www.callforentry.org. Artists will be notified of selection the week of August 28, 2023.

Accepted artists will receive a $1,000 honorarium after installation and two nights of lodging for October 6-7, 2023. An Artist's Welcome Reception will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023. Best in Show Awards will be presented on Saturday, October 7, 2023, with award payments 2-3 weeks after installation. A People's Choice Award will be open for voting on installation day and for 4 weeks after. The artwork will be on display for twelve months from the installation date.

Artists must be present for installation on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 7:00 a.m. and are responsible for all design, labor, materials, transportation, and removal expenses. All artwork must be available for sale; AOTC retains a 25% commission on sales during the exhibit period or as a direct result of the exhibit. Sculptures must meet specific mounting requirements and be structurally sound, resistant to theft and vandalism, and compatible with the Downtown Grand Junction area. Artists must live within a reasonable driving distance of Grand Junction, CO, and artwork previously shown with Art on the Corner is not eligible.
