About This Call
Art on the Blue River Festival will be held Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7, 2018, in Silverthorne, Colorado at the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center. The festival takes place on the lawn with the Gore Mountain Range as a backdrop and along the Blue River. The event is held in conjunction with Silverthorne's First Friday, which features a band, food vendors, and alcoholic beverages. The Lake Dillon Theater Company will perform "Rock of Ages" both nights at the SPAC.
This is a juried show open to artists from all over the US. All work must be original and produced directly by the artist. Artist attendance is required both days of the event. Booth spaces are 10 x 10 (single) or 10 x 20 (double), and artists must provide their own free-standing display booth. The festival takes place at 9,000 feet altitude; suitable protection from sun, wind, and rain is recommended. Weights are required to protect booths; no staking is allowed. Electricity is limited and provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Artists may request specific booth locations or corner booths based on application receipt date.
Applications must be submitted via the CAFE website with four digital images: three showing individual pieces and one of your display and booth setup. A brief artist statement is requested. The jury/application fee is $25 (non-refundable). Booth fees are due upon acceptance: $300 for a single booth or $550 for a double booth. Artists participating in both this show and the Meet The Artists - Frisco show (September 8-9, 2018) receive a $50 discount on the Frisco booth fee. Setup is Thursday, July 5 (1-5 pm check-in), with show hours Friday 10 am-7 pm and Saturday 10 am-4 pm. Coffee, doughnuts, water, and lunch are provided to artists. Security is provided overnight Thursday and Friday nights.
