About This Call

Art on the Blue River Festival will be held July 5-6, 2019 in Silverthorne, Colorado at the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center lawn, with the Gore Mountain Range as backdrop and along the Blue River. This is the 2nd Annual Art Festival, held in conjunction with Silverthorne's First Friday event, which features a band, food vendors, and alcoholic beverages. The Lake Dillon Theater Company will perform "Mama Mia" both nights. The festival is sponsored by and benefits the Summit County Arts Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the arts in Summit County, Colorado.

Art on the Blue River is a juried show open to artists from all over the US. All work must be original and produced directly by the artist. Artist attendance is required both days of the event. Booth spaces are 10 x 10 (single) or 10 x 20 (double), with artists providing their own free-standing display booth. The festival takes place outdoors at 9,000 feet altitude; suitable protection from sun, wind and rain are recommended. Weights are required to protect booths; no staking is allowed. Electricity is limited and provided upon request on a first-come-first-served basis. Artists may request specific booth locations or corner booths based on application receipt date; the Summit County Arts Council reserves the right to assign booths based on art medium and genre.

Applications require submission of four digital images via the CAFE website: three showing individual pieces representative of current work and one of your display and booth set-up. A brief artist statement describing your artwork, process and experience is requested. Entry fee is $25 (non-refundable). Booth fees due upon acceptance: Single Booth (10' x 10') - $300; Double Booth (10' x 20') - $550. Artists participating in both this show and the Meet The Artists - Frisco show (Sept 7-8, 2019) receive a $50 discount on the Frisco booth fee. Set-up is Thursday, July 4, 2019 (12 noon-5 pm) or Friday morning; all artists must be set-up and open by 10 am each day. Show hours: Friday 10 am-7 pm, Saturday 10 am-4 pm. Security is provided overnight Thursday and Friday. Coffee, doughnuts, water, and lunch are provided to artists. All exhibited work must be original art produced by the artist, and artists may only exhibit work in their accepted category. Artist attendance is required; no spouses or representatives permitted. Pets are not allowed in booths.
