The National Maritime Historical Society (NMHS) and the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA) present Art of the Sea, an online exhibition running June 1–July 30, 2026. The exhibition showcases artwork inspired by water, including vessels, waterways, coastal scenes, and marine life in all its forms. Original artwork only in traditional media is accepted; no prints or digital art.
Artists must be members of ASMA to enter. Non-members may join ASMA prior to applying. Entry fees are $35 for the first work and $15 for each additional work, up to 5 total works. Awards include 1st Place ($2,000), 2nd Place ($1,000), 3rd Place ($500), and 3 Merit Awards ($200 each). Notifications will be emailed by April 30, 2026.
