Art of the Arts: A Juried National Exhibition of Artworks that Feature the "Other" Arts

Art of the Arts is a nationally juried exhibition of artworks that uses the visual arts to feature and highlight the "other" major art forms such as Literature, Theater, Film, Music, Architecture, and Dance. Artworks in this exhibition will include (but are not limited to): artwork inspired by music or a song, a film of performance art, artwork produced while dancing, fine art photography of the "other" arts, artwork inspired by stage play, artwork that incorporates the written word, musical instrument assemblage, architectural sculpture, and much more. This exhibition is open to all functional, non-functional, 2D, 3D, fine art, and fine craft in ALL MEDIUMS and ALL STYLES.

Entry fee is $35 for 3 submissions (one image per artwork submission). Each additional submission over 3 is an additional $5, with artists able to submit up to 10 works. Minimum image submission requirement is 3 images. Work must be hang or pedestal ready on arrival at the gallery with no sawtooth hangers. Work may be no longer than 60" in its longest dimension and weigh no more than 50 pounds. Size and weight restrictions may be waived by contacting the Gallery Director directly prior to submission at [email protected].

The exhibition runs Saturday, January 6, 2024 - Saturday, February 3, 2024, with a reception on Thursday, January 11, 2024, 5:30 - 7:30pm. Accepted works must arrive by 5pm Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Notifications will be sent by email by 5pm Monday, November 27, 2023. The juror is Sherelle Rodgers Jackson, Philanthropic and Charitable Giving Manager at Virginia Opera. Awards: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $300, 3rd Place $150. Gallery commission on sales is 60/40 (60% artist, 40% d'Art Center). The artist is responsible for shipping costs. Works must have pre-paid return labels through FedEx or UPS. Artist statements must be 555 characters or less (including spaces and punctuation).
