Art of Photography 2019

The R.G. Endres Gallery annual Art of Photography competition is held every April. The exhibition runs during April 2019 with a gala reception on Friday, April 12th, 2019.

Open to all photographers 18 years of age or older whose submitted works are created with a camera, independent of any supervision. Three "Best of Category" awards of $250.00 and six "Honorable Mention" awards of $100.00 will be given. Work is organized into three categories: Portraits and People; Landscapes and Architecture; and Abstract/non-traditional/photo-collage/highly digitally enhanced. Any image that does not fit clearly into the first two categories will be placed in the third category.

Nine entries are allowed, with a maximum of three entries per category. Only one entry per category per artist will be accepted for the show, though it is possible for one artist to have three works in the exhibition (one in each category). Entry fee is $30.00 for one image; each additional image is $5.00. Fees are non-refundable. A diptych or triptych can be submitted as one entry if it meets the same requirements as a single entry. Accepted artwork must be matted and fit into a standard size frame: 11" X 14", 16" X 20", 20" X 24", 12" X 36", or 24" X 36". Frames will be provided. All work must be for sale. Prices listed on the entry form are binding and cannot be changed after submission. The gallery sales commission is 40%. Matted images can be delivered by hand or mailed to the Prairie Village Arts Council, 7700 Mission Rd, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208 between March 12th and March 27th, 2019. Mailed works must include a postage paid return label. If an artist fails to deliver accepted work, they forfeit their right to be in the 2019 show and will not be considered for the exhibit in the following two years. Hand-delivered unsold images must be picked up on Tuesday, April 30th, 2019 between noon and 5 PM. Any artwork unclaimed 30 days after the exhibition closing becomes property of the Prairie Village Arts Council. Mailed works will be returned Friday, May 3rd, 2019. Juror: Rusty Leffel.
