Art of Fashion - Photography

The Art of Fashion call for photography entries is designed to inform and educate the people of Alaska and beyond of the tremendous amount of fashion talent residing in the state. By "Fashion Talent" we mean photography, modeling, hair, makeup and clothing design—though the latter is not mandatory, as a good percentage of fashion photography composed by Alaskan residents does not include attire created in the state or specifically designed for the shoot.

Entrants can submit up to three photographs per entry. To submit more photographs, entrants must create a new profile. Entrants cannot add or modify an entry once it is posted. Entry fee is $5.00. Entries must include full names of all individuals that worked on the shoot, their capacity, and the brand name or designers name of any clothing depicted in the shot.

Judges will evaluate creativity, originality, design of shot, quality of makeup and hair design, ability of model to capture the moment, and overall composition. Winners of the competition will be published in the February 2013 3rd Annual Art of Fashion issue of F Magazine. Judges will make final decisions for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners and runners up no later than January 15, 2013. F Magazine will contact winning and runner up entrants and request high resolution images (at least 300 dpi) by January 17, 2013; entrants will have until January 20, 2013 to comply. Full placement of winners will be announced in the February 2013 issue, on the website and in subsequent press releases, no later than February 8, 2013. F Magazine is an Alaska-based arts and culture publication and an Art House Resident Group of Out North Contemporary Art House.
