About This Call

Art Now: Printmaking is a juried exhibition open to artists over 18 who currently reside in the US. The exhibition highlights artists employing traditional printmaking processes as well as those using print as a foundation while working across disciplines, with an emphasis on investigative and exploratory approaches to the printed image. This is the third annual exhibition in the Ann Arbor Art Center's Art Now Series, which presents media-focused exhibitions on a rotating basis.

Artists may submit up to three images as jpeg files. Artworks must have been created within the past three years and not previously shown in any other Ann Arbor Art Center exhibitions. A bio and CV must be submitted as a single .doc document labeled using the format: Lastname_firstname. The entry fee is $35.00. The jurying process is anonymous. Submission fees are non-refundable, and no submissions will be accepted past the deadline.

Awards include $500 Best In Show, $200 Second Place, $100 Third Place, and two Honorable Mentions. The juror is Tyanna J. Buie, Assistant Professor/Section Chair of Printmaking at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI. Artists will be notified of selections on Saturday, January 14. Accepted artwork drop-off deadline is Monday, January 30. The opening reception and awards presentation is Friday, February 3, with the exhibition closing Saturday, March 4. Work pickup is Sunday, March 5 – Thursday, March 9. Accepted artworks must arrive ready to hang. It is preferable that artworks are for sale; the Art Center retains a 50% commission on all sold artwork. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and insurance if applicable.
