ART NOW: Photography 2016

ART NOW: PHOTOGRAPHY is the second annual exhibition in the Ann Arbor Art Center's Art Now Series, featuring innovative work in photography. The exhibition highlights photographic artists able to use the world as raw material to communicate their own visions and experiences. While photographic processes may vary significantly, this exhibition will showcase innovative artists working in photography whose practices shape what photography is in 2016.

Artists are invited to submit up to three images as jpeg files for a $35 entry fee. Artworks should be created within the past three years and not previously shown in any Ann Arbor Art Center exhibitions. The jurying process is anonymous; however artists must submit a CV and bio as separate documents in .doc or .pdf format. Juror: Millee Tibbs, a visual artist residing in Detroit, MI, whose work has been shown throughout the United States and Latin America.

Awards include Best of Show - Janet Gallup Award $500, Second Place $200, Third Place $100, and two Honorable Mentions. Entries submission deadline is Sunday, March 13. Accepted artwork drop-off deadline is Monday, March 28. The exhibition closes Saturday, May 14, with work pick-up May 15-17. Accepted artworks must arrive ready to hang. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and insurance, if applicable. Submission fees are non-refundable.
