About This Call
The Miserere Review is an international online publication relaunched in a new flip-book format, scheduled to publish biannually in September and March with additional themed editions as announced. The online magazine is available to readers internationally for free. Contest submissions fund the production of the magazine.
The First Place Contest Winner receives $100 CAD cash award, publication in The Miserere Review Anthology (available on Kindle and print-on-demand), an in-depth article featuring an interview with the artist, a 2-month online solo exhibition hosted by Biafarin, and promotion on social media and in ads. Two Runner Up Contest Winners each receive $100 CAD cash award, publication in the Anthology, a spotlight page in The Miserere Review, and a 2-month online solo exhibition. Three Honorable Mention Winners receive publication in the Anthology, online publication in Artistonish Magazine, and free entry to a future contest. Two Regional Award Winners (open to artists living or working in Illinois or Wisconsin) each receive a $25 USD gift certificate for Reprographics Imaging & Art Supplies.
Submissions must include 3 pieces of artwork per entry as JPG or PNG files at 300 dpi. Optional video links may be provided in the comment section. Entry fee is $21. The contest is open to artists in any country; most mediums are accepted including 2D work, 3D work, artistic functional work, mixed media, and photography. Work must be created wholly by the artist and cannot be created by robots or AI technology. Any work containing excessive profanity, pornography, or glorifying discrimination and abuse will not be considered. All rights belong to the artist except those needed for online and print publication.
