Art League of Hilton Head 2017 Biennale

The Art League of Hilton Head invites entries for the 2017 Biennale, its 25th National Juried Exhibition held every other year across multiple media types. Over $7,000 in cash prizes will be awarded. All selected works will be displayed at the Walter Greer Gallery in the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The juror is Susan Mayfield, an award-winning artist known for her use of color and light in pastel and oils.

Each artist may enter up to three pieces of original artwork created within the last three years and never previously accepted into an Art League of Hilton Head juried show. Only one piece per artist will be accepted into the show. All entries will be juried from digital images. Entries must be original in concept, composition, and execution. Artwork created under instructor supervision is not eligible, and giclees are not acceptable. All exhibited work must be for sale, and the Art League will retain a 40% commission on all sales occurring during or as a result of the show.

Accepted media includes oil or acrylic on canvas or board, watermedia, pastel, mixed media, three-dimensional art, and photography. All works must be quality framed and protected by plexiglass where appropriate. Pieces may not exceed 48"x48" including frame. Sculptures and three-dimensional art must not exceed 60" vertical and 30" horizontal, or weigh more than 50 pounds. An opening reception will be held Friday, May 5, 2017 from 5-7 P.M. Entry fee is $35.00, with an additional $10.00 media fee for extra images.
