ART LAB PROJECT | Interactive Group Exhibition, Solo Features & Publication

ART LAB PROJECT is an 8-week interactive studio project launched by PRPG.mx in 2020. The program connects artists globally and provides a discipline for studio practice. Participating artists are committed to active participation including progress presentations, peer reviews, curator critiques, and collective criticism. Proposals are validated by the curator in advance to be considered for the exhibition outcome. Artists may also be selected from the group exhibition for Solo Exhibition Features.

Entries are juried and selected based on technical application, originality, and concept. Finalists are invited to exhibit their work at PRPG.mx in Mexico City. Selected artists will be featured with photos in a digital publication by Dab Art Co., which will be added to the permanent catalog in the LACMA Balch Art Research Library. A few exhibitors will be selected by jurors to receive a complimentary copy of the exhibition publication. Accepted artwork includes painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. Proposals may include multiple disciplines.

Entry fee is $45 for 3 images, with additional images at $5 each (maximum 20 images). An optional video consultation with curator Micheal Swank is available for $60, limited to 1 hour via Zoom, with a recorded copy provided to the artist. All work must be original, unsold, and owned solely by the artist. 2D artwork must be ready to hang with professional-quality frames, mats, and wiring. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. Shipments must include prepaid DHL or FedEx return labels; USPS shipments are not accepted. The gallery retains a 50% commission on all sales. Payment to artists is provided within 60 days after the exhibit closes and receipt of full payment from the buyer. Submissions completed by 6/30/2021 are considered for the August 2021 exhibition. Final notifications are sent via email within 2 weeks after the close of each calendar month.
